My Goals for the TTL Academy

My goals coming into the TTL academy were pretty simple. I wanted to pick up a few things about software that I work with during the school year and maybe learn one or two new programs. As the 4 weeks are progressing, I realize that these goals were not going to push my partner nor myself the way we would expect to be pushed. This academy gives a person a great opportunity to increase their teaching skills by incorporating many teaching styles with many different forms of technology. I feel that I should be striving towards developing new units for my students including the addition of new technological methods. Along with developing new units, I feel that people with the skills to do so, have a professional responsibility to their teaching partners to pass that expertise on. This will also be a goal of mine in the many years to come.

For the upcoming school year I would like to encourage one of my teaching partners to infuse technology into at least one of their lessons.  I feel that getting them started will be enough to get the ball rolling.  I work with people that are sometimes reluctant to try new things and this could be somewhat difficult.  Th e only thing that I can be consistent with is the modeling that I will be doing throughout the school year.  If my students advance into the upper grades demanding to use the technology available,  I feel the other teachers have no choice but to make it available to them.
